Simulations of events for the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) dark matter experiment

D. S. Akerib et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the simulation framework used in the LUX-ZEPLIN dark matter search project to support sensitivity projections and provide mock data for software validation. Event generators and detector response physics are highlighted for modeling background radiation and generating raw signals for digitized waveforms. Including detector response allows simulated data to be processed using the same analysis routines as experimental data.

Recommended conventions for reporting results from direct dark matter searches

D. Baxter et al.

Summary: The paper proposes recommendations for presenting dark matter direct detection results, particularly for weak-scale dark matter searches, and provides a series of recommendations on applying the Profile Likelihood Ratio method to direct detection data. Additionally, updated recommendations for astrophysical parameters and relevant neutrino fluxes are provided.

A 500 MS/s waveform digitizer for PandaX dark matter experiments

C. He et al.

Summary: This paper presents a waveform digitizer for PandaX dark matter experiments, with support for both external-trigger and triggerless readouts. It features an 8-channel VME board with a sampling rate of 500 MS/s and 14-bit resolution per channel. The digitizer system, consisting of 72 channels, has been successfully tested in situ for the PandaX-4T experiment.

Dark Matter Search Results from the PandaX-4T Commissioning Run

Yue Meng et al.

Summary: Dark matter search results using PandaX-4T commissioning data showed no significant excess over background, setting a stringent limit for dark matter-nucleon spin-independent interactions with the lowest excluded cross section at a dark matter mass of 40 GeV/c(2) at 3.8 x 10(-47) cm(2) (90% C.L.).

Search for Coherent Elastic Scattering of Solar 8B Neutrinos in the XENON1T Dark Matter Experiment

E. Aprile et al.

Summary: In this study, researchers report on their search for nuclear recoil signals from solar B-8 neutrinos elastically scattering off xenon nuclei in XENON1T data, lowering the energy threshold and developing novel techniques to limit background interference. No significant B-8 neutrino-like excess was found in the exposure, but the study did help improve constraints on dark matter-nucleus interactions for dark matter masses between 3 and 11 GeV c(-2) by as much as an order of magnitude.

The cryogenics and xenon handling system for the PandaX-4T experiment

L. Zhao et al.

Summary: The PandaX-4T detector is a xenon dual-phase detector with a cryogenics and xenon handling system designed to liquify and purify the six tons of liquid xenon used as target for dark matter search. Results on the commission of the cryogenics and gas handling system, including cooling power, filling rate, and purification speed, were reported in this paper. The system achieved a maximum cooling power of about 580 W at 178 K, a filling rate of approximately 700 kg/day with assisted liquid nitrogen cooling, and a maximum total purification speed of two circulation loops up to about 155 slpm.

Improving sensitivity to low-mass dark matter in LUX using a novel electrode background mitigation technique

D. S. Akerib et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel technique using machine learning to mitigate electrode backgrounds in xenon time projection chambers for low-mass dark matter searches. By identifying and rejecting signals from wire grid electrodes near the top and bottom of the active target, the technique can improve limits on low-mass DM interactions significantly.
