Investigation of the carbon monoxide dication lifetime using (CO)2 dimer fragmentation

A. Mery et al.

Summary: The study investigates the fragmentation of carbon monoxide dimers induced by collisions with low-energy Ar9+ ions, revealing the presence of metastable states with different lifetimes for CO2+ molecular dications. Different fragmentation channels are observed, with the fast dissociation process contradicting previous conclusions attributing it to perturbations induced by neighbor molecular ions.

Dissociative ionization of OCS induced by highly charged ion impact

Bo Wang et al.

Summary: Through ion impact experiments and momentum spectroscopy, we investigated the dissociation processes of OCSq+ ions and analyzed the branching ratios and kinetic-energy release for different dissociation mechanisms. The results showed distinct differences in the impact of concerted and sequential dissociation mechanisms in various fragmentation channels.
