Clustering, collision, and relaxation dynamics in pure and doped helium nanoclusters: Density- vs particle-based approaches

Summary: This theoretical study investigates the clustering, collision, and relaxation dynamics of pristine and doped helium nanodroplets using three different methods. It is found that the growth of argon clusters is significantly hindered by the helium host droplet, and the effects of superfluidity are manifested in different collision dynamics and oscillations.

Laser-induced Coulomb explosion imaging of (C6H5Br)2 and C6H5Br-I2 dimers in helium nanodroplets using a Tpx3Cam

Summary: By combining laser-induced alignment, Coulomb explosion imaging (CEI), and three-dimensional ion imaging, the structure of bromobenzene-I-2 heterodimer and (bromobenzene)(2) homodimer inside helium droplets was deduced. The study demonstrated the ability of CEI to determine the structure of large complexes, and showed potential for real-time measurements of bimolecular reactions inside helium droplets.
