New constraints on primordial features from the galaxy two-point correlation function

Mario Ballardini et al.

Summary: Features in the primordial power spectrum represent the imprinted signal in the density perturbations of the physics and evolution of the early Universe. A measurement of such signals will represents the need to go beyond the minimal assumption made for the initial conditions of the cosmological perturbations. We study different templates with undamped oscillations or a bump from the two-point correlation function measured from BOSS DR12 galaxies, constraining the amplitude of the features to be at most a few percent. These constraints are competitive to the ones obtained with Planck DR3.

Comparing ultrastable lasers at 7 x 10-17 fractional frequency instability through a 2220 km optical fibre network

M. Schioppo et al.

Summary: This study reports a comparison of two geographically separated ultrastable lasers over a 2220 km optical fibre link, achieving a fractional frequency instability of 7×10-17. These results are significant for the dissemination of ultrastable light to improve the performance of remote optical clocks.

Detecting high-frequency gravitational waves with microwave cavities

Asher Berlin et al.

Summary: This article provides a detailed treatment of electromagnetic signals generated by gravitational waves in resonant cavity experiments. The results show that cavity experiments designed for the detection of axion dark matter only need to reanalyze existing data to search for high-frequency gravitational waves. In addition, directional detection is theoretically possible through the readout of multiple cavity modes.

Planck constraints on the tensor-to-scalar ratio

M. Tristram et al.

Summary: The study presents constraints on the tensor-to-scalar ratio r using Planck data, with results indicating a stronger constraint on r through the BB angular power spectrum compared to the TT spectrum. The combination of Planck with BICEP2/Keck 2015 data yields an upper limit of r<0.044, demonstrating the accuracy and significance of the constraints obtained.

Gravitational decoherence of photons

Michalis Lagouvardos et al.

Summary: Generalizing the gravitational decoherence model to photons and deriving a master equation for the electromagnetic field with a noise temperature parameter Theta could potentially provide strong constraints on gravitational fluctuations in near-future interference experiments.

Gravitational-wave physics with Cosmic Explorer: Limits to low-frequency sensitivity

Evan D. Hall et al.

Summary: The Cosmic Explorer is a concept for a next-generation ground-based gravitational-wave observatory expected to begin operating in the 2030s. It is capable of observing binary neutron star and black hole mergers from the beginning of the universe. The design of Cosmic Explorer is limited by geophysical, thermal, and quantum noises, and requires improved technologies to achieve better strain sensitivity.
