Asymptotic dynamics and spatial patterns of a ratio-dependent predator-prey system with prey-taxis

Yongli Cai et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the global dynamics of a ratio-dependent predator-prey system with prey-taxis. By establishing a mathematical model and conducting numerical simulations, we find that pattern formation may occur and prey-taxis drives the evolution of spatial inhomogeneity.

Global Solution and Spatial Patterns for a Ratio-Dependent Predator-Prey Model with Predator-Taxis

Xiaoyan Gao

Summary: This paper rigorously proves the global existence and boundedness of a ratio-dependent predator-prey model with predator-taxis, based on the heat operator semigroup theory and some priori estimates. It also analyzes the stability of positive equilibrium and finds that large predator-taxis can stabilize equilibrium even in the presence of diffusion-driven instability. Numerical simulations show that pattern formation may occur and predator-taxis is the driving factor for the evolution of spatial inhomogeneity into homogeneity.

Global dynamics of a Lotka-Volterra type prey-predator model with diffusion and predator-taxis

Changwook Yoon

Summary: This paper investigates a reaction-advection-diffusion prey-predator system in one spatial dimension, proving the global existence and boundedness of solutions. The semi-trivial steady state is globally asymptotically stable when predation is weak, and the positive steady state is globally asymptotically stable when predator-taxis is weak in case of strong predation.

Hopf bifurcation in delayed nutrient-microorganism model with network structure

Mengxin Chen et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and derive the amplitude equation for a delayed nutrient-microorganism model with a random network structure. The model exhibits either supercritical or subcritical Hopf bifurcation. Numerical experiments are conducted to verify the theoretical analysis.

Stability and Double-Hopf Bifurcations of a Gause-Kolmogorov-Type Predator-Prey System with Indirect Prey-Taxis

Wenjie Zuo et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the Gause-Kolmogorov-type predator-prey system with indirect prey-taxis, investigating the existence of positive equilibrium, the effect of indirect prey-taxis on stability, and related bifurcations including Hopf, Turing, Turing-Hopf and double-Hopf bifurcations. It is found that spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcations are induced by an indirect prey-taxis parameter, contrasting with models with direct prey-taxis.

Hopf Bifurcation in a Delayed Single Species Network System

Ranchao Wu et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on a network system describing spatiotemporal dynamics of single species population at different patches. The study reveals that time delay is necessary for the network to generate spatial patterns, as time delay induces Hopf bifurcations with network structure.

Impact of Fear and Habitat Complexity in a Predator-Prey System with Two Different Shaped Functional Responses: A Comparative Study

Debgopal Sahoo et al.

Summary: The complexity of habitat and the presence of predators have significant impacts on the ecological dynamics and equilibrium of prey populations, influencing the shape of functional responses. Changes in fear level and habitat complexity can lead to different types of dynamics, affecting the abundance fluctuations of predators and prey.
