RR-1 cuticular protein TcCPR69 is required for growth and metamorphosis in Tribolium castaneum

Jia Xie et al.

Summary: In this study, a gene called TcCPR69 was discovered in Tribolium castaneum that is involved in cuticle formation and chitin accumulation during the growth and metamorphosis of beetles. Knocking down TcCPR69 disrupted beetle development and decreased the expression of key genes related to chitin metabolism.

The JH-Met2-Kr-h1 pathway is involved in pyriproxyfen-induced defects of metamorphosis and silk protein synthesis in silkworms, Bombyx mori

Guoli Li et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that trace pyriproxyfen could impact the metamorphosis and silk protein synthesis in silkworms through the Met2-mediated pathway. The accumulation of pyriproxyfen in the posterior silk gland caused serious damage to the development of silk glands and cocoon-forming function.
