This article investigates the recurrent regime of depleted two-color modulational instability in second-harmonic generation in the cascading limit. A description based on simple algebraic formulas is validated, establishing the quantitative limit of validity for this approach. In the low mismatch regime, where this description breaks down, the system undergoes pseudo-stochastic alterations between two types of deterministic recurrence.
