Investigating photoluminescence properties of Eu3+ doped CaWO4 nanoparticles via Bi3+ amalgamation for w-LEDs application

Maheshwary Singh et al.

Summary: Eu3+-doped CaWO4 nanophosphors were prepared with different concentrations of Bi3+ by polyol method, showing enhanced red emission and high colour purity due to the interaction between Bi3+ and Eu3+. The energy transfer process was studied through decay curves, indicating the potential application of CaWO4:Eu3+/Bi3+ nanophosphors in white light-emitting diodes.

A novel technique for the fabrication of a saturable absorber for fiber lasers: pulsed laser deposition

Haroon Asghar et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the novel technique of preparing a zinc oxide thin film on a fiber ferrule using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) as a saturable absorber (SA) for doped fiber lasers. The erbium-doped fiber laser based on this SA exhibits optical pulses with emission wavelength of 1567.86 nm and a 3 dB spectral bandwidth of 1.24 nm at 42 mW. Increasing the pump power leads to a decrease in pulse duration and an increase in pulse repetition rates. The PLD technique shows promise in fabricating cost-effective and stable SA for passively Q-switched fiber lasers.
