S. Panimalar et al.

Summary: In this study, Sn-doped MnO2 nanostructures were successfully synthesized via a basic sol-gel reaction. The results showed that Sn-doped MnO2 exhibited higher catalytic performance in the visible spectrum. By adjusting the doping ratio of Sn, the degradation efficiency and stability of the catalyst can be further optimized.

Enhancing the photocatalytic performance of surface - Treated SnO2 hierarchical nanorods against methylene blue dye under solar irradiation and biological degradation

V Perumal et al.

Summary: Surfactant-treated tin oxide (SnO2) hierarchical nanorods were successfully synthesized through hydrothermal technique. Analysis results showed that the prepared SnO2 possessed tetragonal rutile structure with good crystallinity and red-shifted visible light absorption band compared to pure SnO2. The as-prepared SnO2 nanorods showed characteristic bands of SnO2 nanostructures, and the morphological analyses revealed hierarchical nanorods and complex nanostructures. The photocatalytic performance of the surfactant-treated SnO2 hierarchical nanorods was evaluated using methylene blue dye removal under direct natural sunlight, and the recycling experiment results and photocatalytic reaction mechanism were also discussed in detail.

Enhanced performance for Rhodamine B degradation over SnO2/BiOBr photocatalyst

Hong-jian Zhao et al.

Summary: A SnO2/BiOBr photocatalyst with broad-spectrum response was successfully constructed via in situ hydrothermal method, where SnO2 was anchored on the surface of BiOBr sheets by acidolysis of Na2SnO3 in the stock solution producing BiOBr. The photocatalytic degradation activity of Rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light-emitting diode irradiation was further improved by coupling a 7% amount of SnO2. The enhanced performance can be attributed to the excellent adsorption abilities for RhB, broadened visible light response, and efficient transfer of photogenerated electrons from BiOBr to SnO2.

Specific charge separation of Sn doped MgO nanoparticles for photocatalytic activity under UV light irradiation

M. Chandrasekar et al.

Summary: Recent developments in material science have led to the synthesis of nanomaterials with unique characteristics and potential applications in various fields. In this study, pure and Sn-doped MgO nanoparticles were hydrothermally synthesized and their photocatalytic properties were investigated. Characterization of the synthesized nanoparticles was done using various techniques such as XRD, UV-vis, PL, FTIR, SEM, EDX, TEM, SAED, and VSM. The results showed that the presence of Sn doping led to a decrease in particle size, dielectric parameters, and magnetization. Furthermore, the Sn-doped n-MgO composites exhibited significant photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methylene blue and phenol under UV irradiation.
