Radiation-assisted reduction of graphene oxide by aloe vera and ginger and their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory roles against male mice liver injury induced by gamma radiation

M. M. Atta et al.

Summary: A novel method for reducing graphene oxide (GO) using gamma-rays and natural antioxidants was studied. The reduced graphene oxide (RGO) biocomposites showed promising potential for medical applications. The reduction process was characterized by various techniques, and the reduced samples demonstrated improved antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects against hepatic injury induced by gamma-irradiation.

Summary: A series of nanocomposites based on Cu/RGO were synthesized using a cost-effective sonochemical method and applied as anticancer agents for breast cancer cells. The Cu concentration influenced the reduction degree of RGO and the anticancer activity of the nanocomposites, with RGO/Cu30 showing the strongest inhibition.

Transformation of Li4P4O12 rings into LiPO3 chains by CoO or CuO doping: Crystallization-induced reduction of photoluminescent Cu+ to plasmonic Cu° glass-ceramics

M. Hamed Misbah et al.

Summary: Lithium-metaphosphate serves as a crucial matrix for the development of Li4P4O12 rings and LiPO3 chains, as well as a suitable host matrix for accommodating photoluminescent Cu+, plasmonic Cu nanoparticles, and Co2+ color centers. The study demonstrates the mutual influence between the crystallization process and transition metal doping in glasses, revealing the role of lithium-metaphosphate in facilitating these structural transformations.

Influence of cobalt oxide on the structure, optical transitions and ligand field parameters of lithium phosphate glasses

A. Ibrahim et al.

Summary: The effects of cobalt oxide additions on lithium phosphate glasses were investigated, showing that the addition of CoO changed the color of the glasses to blue and introduced Co2+ ions. Optical absorption spectra analysis revealed electronic transitions of Co2+ ions, reflecting changes in ligand field parameters.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of graphene nano-platelets (GnP) loading on the crystalline structure and dielectric properties of PVC, as well as the enhanced conductivity and mechanical strength of the PVC composites. The results showed that increased GnP content led to improved crystalline structure, increased permittivity, enhanced conductivity, and improved mechanical strength of PVC.

Synthesis and dielectric relaxation behavior of 55B2O3-15SiO2-30Na2O: WO3 glass system

Summary: The study focused on the properties of glass composites containing WO3 prepared by the melt-quenching procedure, showing that the dielectric constant and conductivity of the samples increase at higher temperatures. The analysis indicates that the conduction mechanism in the glass samples mainly follows the correlated barrier hopping model, with activation energy calculations suggesting the involvement of the same charges in multiple processes.
