Defects mediated optical emissions and efficient photodetection characteristics of sol-gel derived Ag-doped ZnO nanostructures for UV sensor

Sheo K. Mishra et al.

Summary: The study reveals that Ag-doped ZnO NPs can effectively enhance defect-mediated visible emissions and suggest that Ag doping may result in red-shift of UV peak. Pure ZnO exhibits anomalous UV sensing, while Ag-doped ZnO NPs do not have this characteristic. ZnO NPs doped with 7 wt% Ag demonstrate efficient UV photoresponsive behavior.

Modification in the physical properties of nanocrystalline ZnO thin films by Sn/Ni co-doping for transparent conductive oxide applications

Aradhana Tiwari et al.

Summary: This paper presents the modification in the physical properties of spin-coated ZnO thin films upon Sn/Ni co-doping. It is found that the optical transmittance increases and the band gap decreases after doping and co-doping, and the PL spectra show UV emission and blue/green emissions related to native defects. Among them, the 1T1NZO film has the best optical transmittance and high electrical conductivity.

Summary: This study discusses the optical properties of ZnO films doped with Ni and Co transition metals that were hydrothermally deposited on a silicon substrate. The films have been found to have a compact crystalline structure and can be considered as nanostructured polycrystalline ZnO films doped with Ni and Co. Under optical and electronic excitation, the films exhibit luminescence in the near-band-edge ultraviolet and visible range.

Fabricating and investigating high photoresponse UV photodetector based on Ni-doped ZnO nanostructures

Fatemeh Abbasi et al.

Summary: In this study, different concentrations of Ni-doped ZnO nanostructures were successfully prepared and evaluated. The incorporation of Ni into ZnO changed the shape of nanostructures and caused a blue shift in UV-visible spectra. UV photodetectors based on ZnO: Ni samples showed improved photoresponse time, with the sample doped with 7% Ni exhibiting the highest response rate.

Optical and microstructural characterization of nanocrystalline Cu doped ZnO diluted magnetic semiconductor thin film for optoelectronic applications

Gharieb A. Ali et al.

Summary: A series of Zn1-xCuxO nanocrystalline films were deposited on a silica substrate using e-beam evaporation technology, where Cu doping was found to improve the optical energy band gap and other optical properties of the films. The research findings suggest that Cu doped ZnO films have great potential for optoelectronic device applications due to the tunability of various optical parameters with increasing Cu doping levels.
