Sagnac mirror loop with two polarization maintaining fibers for twist measurement by tracking adjacent dips with tunable measurement range

Summary: The transmission characteristics of the Sagnac fiber loop interferometer, which consists of two sections of polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) spliced at different offset angles, have been analyzed. An application for twist measurement using PMFs spliced at different offset angles has been designed based on the simulation results. By changing the offset angle of the PMFs, the measurement range and sensitivity can be adjusted, and the sensitivity of the system has been improved.
