Who Is Patriarchal? The Correlates of Patriarchy in Turkey

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive empirical analysis of patriarchal attitudes and orientations in Turkey, indicating that factors such as religiosity, sectarian and ethnic identities, as well as low socio-economic status may empower patriarchal tendencies. The findings suggest that modernisation processes are likely to undermine patriarchal orientations in Muslim-majority countries.

Summary: This study examined the psychological health of fixed-term researchers in academic settings, using the Job Demands-Resources model as a theoretical framework. The findings showed that mental load indirectly contributes to fatigue through workload and emotional dissonance, and predicts dedication especially among researchers in the most precarious condition.
