Commissioning of a high-resolution collinear laser spectroscopy apparatus with a laser ablation ion source

Shi-Wei Bai et al.

Summary: Collinear laser spectroscopy is a powerful tool for studying nuclear properties, and our developed apparatus successfully measured the optical spectra of Ca isotopes with excellent agreement compared to literature values. The system is now ready for use at radioactive ion beam facilities and paves the way for further development of higher-sensitivity collinear resonance ionization spectroscopy techniques.

Recent progress in two-proton radioactivity

Long Zhou et al.

Summary: Rare isotope beam facilities have provided unique data for studying nuclides far from the beta-stability line. Two-proton (2p) radioactivity, a rare decay mode in highly proton-rich isotopes, has attracted significant research attention. This review presents recent experimental and theoretical progress on 2p decay, including innovations in measuring nucleon-nucleon correlations and developments in connecting structural aspects with decay properties.

Production of p-rich nuclei with Z=20-25 based on radioactive ion beams

Bing Li et al.

Summary: Within the framework of the isospin-dependent Boltzmann-Langevin model, the production of proton-rich nuclei with Z = 20 - 25 is investigated. It is found that proton-rich fragments are more easily produced in reactions with the proton-rich projectile Ni-48, and the production cross sections of unknown nuclei near the projectile are sensitive to incident energy. Simulations show that projectile fragmentation reactions of Ni radioactive ion beams have the potential to generate new proton-rich nuclei with Z = 20 - 25.

Deformed halo of F-29(9)20

Ikuko Hamamoto

Summary: This study interprets the recent observation of halo phenomena in F-29 as evidence for the prolate deformation of the ground state of F-29 using a simple model based on spherical and deformed Woods-Saxon potentials. The strong preference of particular shape by the proton numbers 8 and 9, together with the energy difference between neutron orbits in oxygen isotopes, seems to play an important role in the phenomena of oxygen neutron drip line anomaly.

Impact of finite-range tensor terms in the Gogny force on the β-decay of magic nuclei

Da-Zhuang Chen et al.

Summary: The effects of finite-range tensor force on the beta-decay of magic and semi-magic nuclei of Si-34, Ni-68,78, and Sn-132 have been investigated. The tensor force shifts low-lying Gamow-Teller states downward, improving the calculation accuracy of Q and log ft values. This systematic reduction of deviations between theoretical and experimental data leads to significantly improved predictions of beta-decay half-lives.

Role of quadrupole deformation and continuum effects in the island of inversion nuclei 28,29,31F

Yu-Xuan Luo et al.

Summary: Using the relativistic mean-field approach and the Green's function method, we investigated the single-particle structure of F-28, F-29, and F-31. Our results showed that quadrupole deformation and continuum effects play a crucial role in leading to the negative-parity ground state in F-28 and halo structures in F-29 and F-31.

First proof-of-principle experiment with the post-accelerated isotope separator on-line beam at BRIF: measurement of the angular distribution of 23Na+40Ca elastic scattering

Wei Nan et al.

Summary: The reaction dynamics of exotic nuclei near the drip line is a research topic of interest, with elastic scattering being a useful probe for investigating size and surface diffuseness. This study presents the first experiment using a post-accelerated ISOL beam at the Beijing Radioactive Ion Beam Facility, showing good agreement with measurements using non-ISOL beam, and providing useful background for utilizing BRIF as a powerful tool for investigating the reaction dynamics of exotic nuclei.
