Activation of the cognitive control network associated with information uncertainty

Tingting Wu et al.

Summary: The study found that the cognitive control network (CCN) is activated in response to increased information uncertainty, which is associated with both information entropy and surprise. The frontoparietal network and additional structures in the CCN mediate the relationship between information measures and behavioral response, suggesting that the CCN is a high-level modality-general neural entity for processing information conveyed by both context and event.

Sex differences in neural responses to reward and the influences of individual reward and punishment sensitivity

Isha Dhingra et al.

Summary: Using fMRI and a variant of MIDT, this study examined sex differences in reward and punishment sensitivity, revealing that men have higher reward sensitivity while women have higher punishment sensitivity. Additionally, men show greater neural responses in the brain compared to women.

Brain activations associated with anticipation and delivery of monetary reward: A systematic review and meta-analysis of fMRI studies

Summary: This meta-analysis focused on fMRI studies using monetary reward with a definable cue-reward contingency. The results showed that both reward anticipation and delivery activated the ventral striatum, with different patterns of cortical activation.
