State Estimation for Discrete Time-Delayed Impulsive Neural Networks Under Communication Constraints: A Delay-Range-Dependent Approach

Yuqiang Luo et al.

Summary: This article proposes a delay-range-dependent approach to handle the state estimation problem for delayed impulsive neural networks. A new type of nonlinear function is adopted as the neuron activation function to improve the model's generality. The round-robin protocol is used to alleviate data collisions and unnecessary network congestion, and a state observer is constructed with the aid of the Lyapunov stability theory to ensure asymptotically stable estimation error dynamics.

Kaiqun Zhu et al.

Summary: This article investigates the adaptive neural network-based set-membership state estimation problem for a class of nonlinear systems subject to bit rate constraints and unknown-but-bounded noises. A bit rate allocation mechanism is proposed to relieve the communication burden and improve state estimation accuracy. An NN-based set-membership estimator is designed using the NN learning method, relying upon a prediction-correction structure. The existence of adaptive tuning parameters and set-membership estimators is ensured, and the convergence of NN weights is analyzed.

Distributed non-fragile set-membership filtering for nonlinear systems under fading channels and bias injection attacks

Lei Liu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the secure distributed set-membership filtering problem for general nonlinear systems over wireless sensor networks. Bias injection attacks and channel fading of wireless communication are taken into account in filter design. By using LMI technique and Taylor's expansion formula, nonlinearity, channel fading, bias injection attacks, and non-fragility are handled simultaneously to address the filter design problem. Sufficient conditions are obtained for pre-specified filtering performance, and an optimal algorithm is proposed for locally best performance. Simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed secure filtering algorithm.

Multistability of Fractional-Order Neural Networks With Unbounded Time-Varying Delays

Fanghai Zhang et al.

Summary: This article discusses the multistability and attraction of fractional-order neural networks with unbounded time-varying delays. Multiple sufficient conditions are provided for the coexistence of equilibrium points with concave-convex activation functions. The criteria for Mittag-Leffler stability can be simplified to M-matrix and the extension of attraction basin is shown to be independent of the magnitude of delays. Three numerical examples are given to demonstrate the validity of the theoretical results.

Quasi-Synchronization for Periodic Neural Networks With Asynchronous Target and Constrained Information

Yong Xu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the problem of quasi-synchronization for the periodic neural networks, considering both parameter and period mismatches. It utilizes a logarithmic quantizer and Bernoulli processes to address limited communication capacity and information loss. A new period concept is introduced to obtain an augmented synchronization error system, and a suboptimal iterative algorithm is proposed to reduce the quasi-synchronization range. The controller design method is illustrated through a numerical example.
