Geometric filterless photodetectors for mid-infrared spin light

Jingxuan Wei et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel approach for circularly polarized light detection in the mid-infrared region, using geometric photodetectors and graphene ribbons. It offers a high-quality, filterless solution for on-chip CPL detection.

Engineering Strongly Chiral Plasmonic Lattices with Achiral Unit Cells for Sensing and Photodetection

Artur Movsesyan et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new family of 2D chiral lattices constructed from fully achiral unit cells, which differs fundamentally from previously reported arrays made of chiral unit cells. The control of CD peaks can be achieved by tuning the geometry and matrix refractive indices in certain configurations.

Multidimensional nanoscopic chiroptics

Yang Chen et al.

Summary: Nanoscopic chiroptics studies spin-dependent asymmetric light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, with asymmetry stemming from intrinsic properties of materials, structures, or light. With the advent of low-dimensional materials platforms, nanoscopic chiroptics has expanded from far field to near field, and across spatial, momentum, and integrated spatial-momentum dimensions, revealing new physical mechanisms and applications related to chiral effects.

Local Growth Mediated by Plasmonic Hot Carriers: Chirality from Achiral Nanocrystals Using Circularly Polarized Light

Lucas Besteiro et al.

Summary: This study explores the possibility of growing chiral plasmonic nanocrystals from nonchiral seeds using circularly polarized light, and introduces a novel theoretical methodology to simulate realistic photogrowth processes. The results demonstrate strongly anisotropic and chiral growth of nanocrystals, even for those with subwavelength sizes.

Mid-infrared semimetal polarization detectors with configurable polarity transition

Jingxuan Wei et al.

Summary: A nanoantenna-mediated semimetal photodetector, capable of configurable polarity transition and covering a wide range of polarization ratios from positive to negative values, has been reported. This device breaks the conventional relationship between polarization ratio (PR) and diattenuation, allowing for PR values to approach infinity at the polarity-transition point.
