Supernova-driven Mechanism of Cusp-core Transformation: an Appraisal

Summary: The study focuses on the impact of supernova feedback on the dark matter distribution of isolated halos hosting dwarf galaxies. It is found that the total amount of SN feedback energy transferred to dark matter particles determines whether a DM core forms. The efficiency of energy transfer to dark matter is higher when energy is injected faster and the galaxy is more compact, leading to an increased size of the formed DM core.
