Return of the TEDI: Revisiting the Triple Evolution Dynamical Instability Channel in Triple Stars

Summary: The phenomenon of triple evolution dynamical instability (TEDI) in triple-star systems can lead to collisions of stars, exchanges, and ejections. This study revisits the TEDI evolutionary pathway using advanced population synthesis methods and finds collision rates on the order of 10(-4) yr(-1). TEDI-induced collisions involve mainly main-sequence stars and can potentially produce blue straggler stars. The TEDI is triggered by both adiabatic wind mass loss and Roche lobe overflow in the inner binary. Consideration of flybys in the field increases collision rates by approximately 17%.

Orbital alignment and mass segregation in galactic nuclei via vector resonant relaxation

On the Capture of Interstellar Objects by Our Solar System

Mass-gap Mergers in Active Galactic Nuclei
