Application of Nanomaterials in Development of Electrochemical Sensors and Drug Delivery Systems for Anticancer Drugs and Cancer Biomarkers

Summary: The worldwide occurrence of cancer has led to a global effort in developing and producing anticancer drugs. However, these drugs often come with high toxicity and side effects. Electrochemical methods have gained attention for their sensitivity, selectivity, and affordability in developing (bio)sensors for monitoring anticancer drugs and cancer biomarkers. This review focuses on the development of modified electrodes using nanomaterials for sensing anticancer drugs and cancer biomarkers, highlighting their analytical performance and properties. Nanomaterials offer excellent features for anticancer drug delivery systems and can enhance drug resistance, site-specificity, and efficient delivery.

Development of an electrochemical fentanyl nanosensor based on MWCNT-HA/ Cu-H3BTC nanocomposite
