Bisdemethoxycurcumin suppresses human brain glioblastoma multiforme GBM 8401 cell migration and invasion via affecting NF-κB and MMP-2 and MMP-9 signaling pathway in vitro

Chiung-Ju Chen et al.

Summary: We evaluated the antimetastasis activity of Bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) in human glioblastoma (GBM) cells and found that BDMC may have the potential to inhibit cell migration and invasion in GBM by suppressing key signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, uptake, and motility.

Fibrinogen/AKT/Microfilament Axis Promotes Colitis by Enhancing Vascular Permeability

Chong Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that fibrinogen is upregulated in the colon of DSS-treated mice and in patients with ulcerative colitis. Inhibition of fibrinogen significantly alleviated DSS-induced colitis. Fibrinogen regulates colitis by modulating vascular permeability through activating AKT and depolymerizing microfilament, suggesting it as a potential target for anti-colitis treatment.

Network pharmacology and pharmacokinetics integrated strategy to investigate the pharmacological mechanism of Xianglian pill on ulcerative colitis

Chang-Shun Liu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the pharmacological mechanism of Xianglian pill (XLP) in treating ulcerative colitis (UC) through a combination of network pharmacology and pharmacokinetics analysis. The results showed that XLP mainly alleviates UC inflammation by regulating key pathways of the immune system and inhibiting Th17 cell differentiation. Pharmaceutical studies also confirmed the exposure of XLP ingredients in plasma and colon tissue, demonstrating its therapeutic effect on UC.

Efficacy of a Standardized Turmeric Extract Comprised of 70% Bisdemothoxy-Curcumin (REVERC3) Against LPS-Induced Inflammation in RAW264.7 Cells and Carrageenan-Induced Paw Edema

Kuluvar Gouthannchandra et al.

Summary: In this study, bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) was enriched to 70% and named as REVERC3 for the first time, showing significant anti-inflammatory activity in comparison to regular turmeric extract. The results demonstrated that REVERC3 effectively inhibited inflammation processes in both in vitro and in vivo models.
