Surface synergetic effects of Pt clusters/monolayer Bi2MoO6 nanosheet for promoting the photocatalytic selective reduction of 4-nitrostyrene to 4-vinylaniline

Yingzhang Shi et al.

Summary: Pt clusters supported on Bi2MoO6 nanosheets were found to efficiently catalyze the selective reduction of 4-nitrostyrene to 4-vinylaniline. The results demonstrate that 4-nitrostyrene can be selectively adsorbed and activated on Mo5+ and Bi2+ sites, and the synergy between Pt clusters and photogenerated carriers facilitates the dissociation of HCOO- to support the selective reduction of 4-nitrostyrene.

Amino-functionalized NH2-MIL-125(Ti)-decorated hierarchical flowerlike Znln2S4 for boosted visible-light photocatalytic degradation

Chengzhang Zhu et al.

Summary: The optimized NH2-MIL-125(TH@ZnIn2S4) heterostructure exhibits superior photocatalytic performance in the degradation of tetracycline under visible light, attributed to well-matched energy level positions, strong visible-light-harvesting capacity and abundant coupling interfaces between the two components. The probable degradation mechanism of tetracycline was clarified through active species trapping experiments, inspiring further research in the design and construction of photocatalysts for effective removal of antibiotics in water environments.

Protruding Pt single-sites on hexagonal ZnIn2S4 to accelerate photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Xiaowei Shi et al.

Summary: An alternative approach involving protruding Pt sites on a semiconductor has been developed to enhance H2 evolution yield rates. By stabilizing ultralow Pt co-catalysts onto nanosheets, the protruding Pt single-sites promote reaction kinetics and provide a cost-efficient pathway for solar-light-driven H2 production.

Ag-Pd alloy decorated ZnIn 2 S 4 microspheres with optimal Schottky barrier height for boosting visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution

Chao Liu et al.

Summary: By combining Ag-Pd alloy nanoparticles with ZnIn2S4, the photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution was significantly enhanced due to the synergistic effect of bimetallic Ag-Pd alloy. The optimal Ag0.25Pd0.75-ZIS sample exhibited higher H2 evolution rate and apparent quantum yield compared to pure ZIS, Ag-ZIS, and Pd-ZIS. The enhanced activity was attributed to increased light harvesting capacity and prolonged electron-hole pair lifetimes.

Hierarchical Sb2S3/ZnIn2S4 core-shell heterostructure for highly efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production and pollutant degradation

Yan Xiao et al.

Summary: In this work, a novel hierarchical 1D/2D core/shell Sb2S3-ZnIn2S4 heterostructure with highly efficient photocatalytic activities for both hydrogen production from water and organic pollutant degradation was designed and fabricated. The heterostructure showed improved light absorption capacity, increased surface area, shortened distance of electronic transmission channels, and accelerated separation and migration of photogenerated carriers. The SB-ZIS composites displayed significantly enhanced photocatalytic performances for H2 generation and Tetracycline Hydrochloride (TCH) photodegradation. The research provides useful information for the development of Sb2S3-based core-shell heterostructures with efficient photocatalytic activity for solving environmental pollution and producing clean hydrogen energy.
