A Novel Shift in the Absorbance Maxima of Methyl Orange with Calcination Temperature of Green Tin Dioxide Nanoparticle-Induced Photocatalytic Activity

Summary: In this study, SnO2 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using Buxus wallichiana leaf extract as a reducing and capping agent. The photocatalytic properties of SnO2 nanoparticles were evaluated using various methods, and the results showed that the calcination temperature had a significant impact on the crystallinity, morphology, and photocatalytic activity. The absorption spectra of methyl orange (MO) were strongly modified by the calcination temperature, indicating the potential application of SnO2 nanoparticles in the degradation of industrial effluents.

The TiO2:NC annealed at 600 degrees C exhibited the highest degradation rate constant during the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine 6G under simulated solar light.
