Genome-wide functional analysis of hot pepper immune receptors reveals an autonomous NLR clade in seed plants

Summary: This study identified a group of NLRs (ANLs) carrying autoactive coiled-coil domains in pepper plants, which may function as singleton NLRs. The research also revealed that autoactive coiled-coil domains are well conserved in Solanaceae plants and rice, a monocot plant. Furthermore, phylogenetic analyses showed that ANLs are present in all tested seed plants.
