PSMA1 mediates tumor progression and poor prognosis of gastric carcinoma by deubiquitinating and stabilizing TAZ

Qinyu Yang et al.

Summary: The overexpression of PSMA1 in gastric cancer promotes cancer progression by increasing cell proliferation, migration and invasion. TAZ was identified as a downstream gene of PSMA1, and PSMA1 stabilizes TAZ by directly interacting with it and deubiquitinating it. Further studies revealed that TAZ is a crucial mediator of the oncogenic activity regulated by PSMA1. Analysis of clinical samples confirmed the association of elevated mediators of PSMA1 and increased TAZ abundance with the progression of gastric cancer.

The long non-coding RNA landscape in triple-negative breast cancer

Wenwen Zhang et al.

Summary: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is known for its aggressive behavior and poor prognosis. Recent studies have identified various long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) that play important roles in TNBC tumorigenesis. Potential therapeutic strategies using lncRNAs are being explored in clinical settings for TNBC patients.

Roles of the H19/microRNA-675 axis in the proliferation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of human cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma cells

Wenqing Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that long non-coding RNA H19 and microRNA-675 are upregulated in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) tissues and cell lines, promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while inhibiting apoptosis. They also regulate the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process and p53 expression levels, impacting the development and metastasis of cSCC.

Long noncoding RNA SOX2OT promotes pancreatic cancer cell migration and invasion through destabilizing FUS protein via ubiquitination

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that SOX2OT binds to FUS through its 5' and 3' regions, resulting in FUS ubiquitination and degradation, thus promoting migration, invasion, tumor growth, and metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells. A better understanding of the SOX2OT-FUS regulatory axis is important for clarifying the mechanism of action of SOX2OT and providing new ideas for pancreatic cancer treatment.
