The double agents in liquid biopsy: promoter and informant biomarkers of early metastases in breast cancer

Vinitha Richard et al.

Summary: Breast cancer is a major global problem with increasing mortality associated with advanced stage and metastases. However, research suggests that metastasis is an early occurrence. Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and microRNAs (miRNAs) in the blood are believed to be early indications of metastasis, providing information about the tumor burden and changes in molecular signaling pathways. Liquid biopsy (LB), which involves sampling easily accessible patient blood, offers an efficient alternative to tissue biopsies. Therefore, miRNAs play a crucial role in the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

XIAP as a multifaceted molecule in Cellular Signaling

Mina Hanifeh et al.

Summary: This review summarizes the key trends of XIAP as an important regulator of cellular signaling. It discusses the inhibitory effect of XIAP on caspases and apoptosis, as well as its role in regulating inflammatory signaling, mitogenic kinase signaling, cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. The review also explains XIAP's involvement in necroptosis, autophagy, neuronal differentiation, intracellular ROS production, and copper homeostasis.

Insight into the Key Points of Preeclampsia Pathophysiology: Uterine Artery Remodeling and the Role of MicroRNAs

Katarzyna Pankiewicz et al.

Summary: Preeclampsia is a complex and multifaceted syndrome with at least several potential pathways leading to its development. The two-stage model suggests that impaired placentation in early pregnancy leads to reduced placental perfusion, while the second stage involves the onset of maternal clinical symptoms, possibly through novel pathways. Recent advances focus on uterine artery remodeling alterations and the role of microRNAs in preeclampsia.

LncRNA SLCO4A1-AS1 Accelerates Growth and Metastasis of Gastric Cancer via Regulation of the miR-149/XIAP Axis

Yantian Fang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that SLCO4A1-AS1 acts as an oncogenic lncRNA in gastric cancer, promoting tumor growth and metastasis by interacting with miR-149 and XIAP, suggesting it as a potential therapeutic target in gastric cancer treatment.
