Photoelectrochemical detection of microRNAs based on target-triggered self-assembly of energy band position-matched CdS QDs and C3N4 nanosheets

Xiangyu Ma et al.

Summary: The ultra-sensitive photochemical biosensor developed in this study is based on the target miRNA-triggered catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA) reaction. By linking Au nanoparticles/C3N4 nanosheets and CdS quantum dots through a double helix structure, a strong photocurrent is generated after the CHA reaction is triggered by the target miRNA. This design effectively eliminates nonspecific adsorption interference and false-positive signals, achieving a low detection limit of 92 aM. The biosensor demonstrates good reproducibility and selectivity in serum sample analysis, showing great potential in disease diagnostics and bioanalysis.
