Charge carrier separation and enhanced PEC properties of BiVO4 based heterojunctions having ultrathin overlayers

Nisha Kodan et al.

Summary: The photoelectrochemical performance of a BiVO4 photoanode can be enhanced by forming heterojunctions with ultrathin overlayers of Fe2O3, MoO3 and ZnO. In particular, the BiVO4/MoO3 heterojunction shows improved charge transport properties compared to pristine BiVO4, leading to a significant increase in photocurrent density. There is potential for further research and improvement by exploring other semiconductor materials for heterojunction formation.

Targeting transcription of MCL-1 sensitizes HER2-amplified breast cancers to HER2 inhibitors

Konstantinos Floros et al.

Summary: HER2 inhibitors are less effective in breast cancer due to low levels of MCL-1, but combining them with CDK inhibitors can sensitize HER2 inhibitors and lead to effective treatment. This combination therapy shows promising results in preclinical models and may offer a chemotherapy-free therapeutic strategy for HER2-amplified breast cancer patients.
