N-doped, silver, and cerium co-doped carbon quantum dots based sensor for detection of Hg2+ and captopril

Lakshita Dewangan et al.

Summary: Stable carbon quantum dots doped with nitrogen and co-doped with silver or cerium were synthesized and used as fluorescent probes for the detection of mercury and captopril. The fluorescence of the carbon quantum dots was quenched in the presence of Hg2+ ions, while it was recovered in the presence of captopril. The detection limits for Hg2+ and captopril using these carbon quantum dots as fluorescent nanoprobes were found to be low, indicating good sensitivity.
