Metal-Organic Framework Composites for Theragnostics and Drug Delivery Applications

Johannes W. M. Osterrieth et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising materials for cancer drug delivery due to their high drug uptake capacities and slow-release mechanisms. MOF-composite materials with added functionality, such as externally triggered drug release and improved pharmacokinetics, show potential for applications in nanomedicine. Further research is needed to develop biomedical expertise and advanced targeting techniques in this field.

Template-directed synthesis of three-dimensional metal organic framework 199-derived highly porous copper nano-foam fiber for solid-phase microextraction of some antibiotics prior to their quantification by High performance liquid chromatography

Samaneh Niazipour et al.

Summary: The in-situ preparation of three-dimensional MOF-199 derived from electrochemically prepared highly porous nano-Cu foam on a flexible copper wire surface was successfully used for the solid phase microextraction of antibiotics with high efficiency. The method exhibited linear calibration curves, low detection and quantification limits, and good repeatability in water and urine samples.
