Tuning of Magnetoimpedance Effect and Magnetic Properties of Fe-Rich Glass-Coated Microwires by Joule Heating

Alvaro Gonzalez et al.

Summary: The influence of Joule heating on the magnetic properties, giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect, and domain wall (DW) dynamics of Fe75B9Si12C4 glass-coated microwires was investigated. The results showed a significant increase in GMI ratio in Joule heated samples, particularly at 200 MHz. The hysteresis loops of annealed samples remained rectangular, while a slight decrease in coercivity was observed after treatment. Additionally, a modification of MOKE hysteresis loops and an improvement in DW dynamics were observed upon Joule heating.

Yield strength measurement of ferromagnetic materials based on the inverse magnetostrictive effect

Fei Han et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a non-destructive method for measuring the yield strength of ferromagnetic materials, which is influenced by the microstructure of the material and its inverse magnetostrictive effect. Experimental verification is conducted using an electromagnetic ultrasonic transducer (EMAT) detection system. The relationship between electromagnetic acoustic transducer signals and the static magnetic field strength is extracted to establish a regression model for predicting yield strength, achieving a maximum prediction accuracy of 12.78% on a tested specimen from the same batch.

Photoelasticity for Stress Concentration Analysis in Dentistry and Medicine

Miriam Marin-Miranda et al.

Summary: Photoelasticity is an optical technique used in medicine and dentistry to observe and understand biomechanics. In dentistry, it is mainly used in disciplines related to fixed prosthesis implants, while in medicine, it is predominantly used in orthopedic research. However, there are no reports on the use of photoelastic models as teaching aids in either field. Although photoelasticity has been widely used in research, its application in clinical learning has not been fully explored due to limitations in the characteristics of the results obtained.
