Chaotic neuronal oscillation is activated in the Rossler system when a locally active memristor is introduced. The memristive Rossler system has two independent parameters that provide local amplitude control, one of which can adjust the amplitude and frequency of variables in a specific intermittent mode. Different neuronal firing modes are modified by the system parameter. The coexistence of periodic oscillation and chaos is also captured along with a basin of attraction. Experimental verification using STM32-based experiment supports the numerical and theoretical results.
