The effects of graphene content on phase evolution and conductivity of a titanium/graphene composite fabricated by spark plasma sintering were investigated. The introduction of graphene resulted in the in-situ production of TiC on the crystal boundaries, improving the densification of the composite and facilitating electron conduction. The conductivity of the titanium matrix composite can be tuned by the amount of graphene introduced, with a maximum conductivity of 2.77 x 104 S/cm observed when the graphene content reached 0.5 wt%.
Titanium/graphene composite was fabricated by spark plasma sintering. Effects of graphene content on phase evolution and conductivity of the composite were investigated. The TiC was in-situ produced on the crystal boundaries after the introduction of graphene, which could improve the densification of the composite and facilitate its conduction of electrons. The electronic conductivity of titanium matrix can be tuned by the introduction amount of graphene. When the graphene amount reached 0.5 wt%, the conductivity of titanium matrix composite displayed a maximum of 2.77 x 104 S/cm.
