Study on the dynamic recrystallization mechanisms of GH5188 superalloy during hot compression deformation

Dahai Liu et al.

Summary: This paper studied the flow stress behavior and recrystallization mechanism of GH5188 superalloy, finding dynamic recrystallization to be the main softening mechanism. EBSD results indicated different recrystallization mechanisms at different temperatures, and twinning played a key role in subgrain refinement at high strain rates.

Hot Deformation Behavior and Dynamic Recrystallization Nucleation Mechanisms of Inconel 625 during Hot Compressive Deformation

Zhi Jia et al.

Summary: The high-temperature compression deformation behavior of Inconel 625 alloy was investigated through hot compression tests, revealing that the optimum condition for plastic deformation is at temperatures higher than 1050 degrees C with a strain rate of 1 to 10 s(-1). The characterization of hot compression microstructure evolution using EBSD and TEM techniques showed different dynamic recrystallization mechanisms under varying compression deformation conditions, with CDRX dominating at lower temperatures and DDRX with a bulging boundary induced by twinning dominating at higher temperatures. These findings provide a theoretical basis for optimizing the thermoplastic processing of nickel-based superalloys.

Dynamic mechanical behaviour induced by adiabatic temperature rise of Fe-Mn-Al-C steel

C. H. Wang et al.

Summary: The study investigates the dynamic mechanical behavior induced by adiabatic temperature rise of Fe-Mn-Al-C twinning-induced plasticity steel through dynamic tensile testing and a dynamic constitutive model. The results show that the more active twinning at higher strain rates contributes to plasticity, while the decreasing plasticity from dislocation slip leads to a low strain hardening rate. In the later stage, adiabatic heating promotes dislocation annihilation through enhanced dynamic recovery, resulting in negative rate-dependent hardening.

Hot workability and dynamic recrystallization behavior of a spray formed 7055 aluminum alloy

Rui Luo et al.

Summary: In this study, the hot workability of a spray formed 7055 aluminum alloy was investigated using advanced Gleeble thermo-mechanical simulation technology and EBSD technology. It was found that with increasing deformation parameters, the grains become finer and the distribution of crystal orientation becomes more homogeneous. Additionally, both Continuous Dynamic Recrystallization (CDRX) and Discontinuous Dynamic Recrystallization (DDRX) mechanisms coexist during hot deformation.

Effect of grain refinement and twin structure on the strength and ductility of Inconel 625 alloy

Xingmao Wang et al.

Summary: Thermo-mechanical treatments were employed to improve the yield strength of Inconel 625 alloy, leading to an increase in strength with a decrease in ductility. The strength-ductility synergy is achieved through the formation of grain boundaries, annealing twins, and deformation twins during plastic deformation.

Annealing twin mechanism for 304 stainless steel solution treatment process

Kai-sheng Ji et al.

Summary: The study found that the texture type of 304 stainless steel pipe clearly changed and the texture strength was greatly increased after the solution heat treatment. Additionally, during the solution heat treatment process, some grains underwent abnormal growth by merging with adjacent small grains. After the solution heat treatment, more 60 degrees twins were formed in the microstructures of the pipe, with an increase in the fraction of twin boundaries observed.
