In situ gelation strategy based on ferrocene-hyaluronic acid organic copolymer biomaterial for exudate management and multi-modal wound healing

Rui Zhang et al.

Summary: Exudate management is a major concern in wound healing. In this study, a novel metal organic copolymer patch (FHoCP) was developed for in situ gelation. The presence of ferrocene (Fc) promoted gelation and improved the exudate-locking ability. The FHoCP efficiently absorbed water and maintained a stable three-dimensional network, reducing inflammation and acting as a physical barrier against bleeding and bacteria. The FHoCP also promoted fibroblast migration, angiogenesis, and antibacterial effects, suggesting its potential for clinical application.

Summary: In this study, nuclear imaging was used to quantify the impact of focused ultrasound (FUS) on blood-brain barrier (BBB) opening and tumor growth. The results showed that FUS did not influence tumor growth, and molecular imaging can be used to evaluate the time frame and efficacy of systemic treatment combined with transient BBB opening.

Co-delivery of paclitaxel and STAT3 siRNA by a multifunctional nanocomplex for targeted treatment of metastatic breast cancer

Kaipei Luo et al.

Summary: Metastasis is a major cause of mortality in breast cancer patients, and the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) is closely related to cancer metastasis. In this study, a multifunctional nanocomplex co-loaded with paclitaxel (PTX) and STAT3 siRNA was developed, showing superior efficacy in inhibiting tumor growth and suppressing metastasis by silencing STAT3 expression. The nanocomplex provides a promising platform for targeted treatment of metastatic cancer through chemo-gene combined therapy.
