Fast room-temperature self-healing vitrimers enabled by accelerated associative exchange kinetics

Summary: In this study, pseudo-cyclic vinylogous urethane (VU) vitrimers were fabricated with accelerated associative exchange kinetics and enhanced mechanical properties. The pseudo-cyclic vitrimers exhibited higher crosslinking densities and more orderly arranged network topologies compared to their linear counterpart. Tensile strength and toughness were significantly improved, and the vitrimers showed high-efficient self-healable capability at room temperature. The study contributes to the development of fast self-healing vitrimers and expands their potential applications.
