Preparedness for family caregiving prior to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

Jeanette Winterling et al.

Summary: This study found that the preparedness of family caregivers before undergoing allo-HSCT is associated with caregiver outcomes such as burden, anxiety/depression, competence, self-efficacy, and general health. Caregivers with higher education levels and who were the patient's partners were more prepared, while gender and age were not significant factors. Higher preparedness was associated with better caregiver outcomes, indicating the importance of assessing and providing support to caregivers with insufficient preparedness before allo-HSCT.

Quality of life in caregivers of patients receiving chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy

Anna Barata et al.

Summary: Research on caregivers of CAR T-cell therapy revealed that pain, anxiety, and burden were major concerns, likely associated with patients' health status. Caregivers' distress did not change over time, except for worsening depression by day 180. Factors such as lower patient performance status were related to worsening caregiver outcomes.
