Experimental study on the influence of bionic channel structure and nanofluids on power generation characteristics of waste heat utilisation equipment

Jianglin Tu et al.

Summary: A bionics-based cogeneration system was designed in this study to improve waste heat utilization, with experimental results showing that using CuO-H2O nanofluids can increase the temperature at the hot end of a thermoelectric plate. The highest thermoelectric conversion efficiency was achieved with bionic structures featuring an angular frequency of 30 rad/s, an amplitude of 3 mm, and a phase shift of 180 degrees, providing guidance for the design and operation of waste heat utilization equipment.

Numerical solution of micropolar fluid flow with heat transfer by finite difference method

Salman Ahmad et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of various parameters on the time-dependent flow of micropolar fluid between parallel permeable plates. The results show that the velocity increases with the Hartmann number when the electric field parameter is nonzero. On the other hand, the velocity decreases with the Hartmann number when the electric field parameter is zero. The temperature increases with both electric and magnetic field parameters. The micro-rotation decreases with the micro-rotation material parameter and increases with time.

Numerical analysis of flow and heat characteristic around micro-ribbed tube in heat exchanger system

Jianglin Tu et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the effects of different parameters on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of tube-row channel heat exchangers through numerical simulation. It was found that TiO2-H2O nanofluids can improve the performance of heat exchangers, with the best results achieved at a mass fraction of 0.4%. Adjusting the number of ribs, rib height, pitch diameter ratio, and using nanofluids can significantly increase the Nusselt numbers.

Ngakan Ketut Acwin Dwijendra et al.

Summary: Density functional theory was used to investigate the effect of decorating Zn and Cd transition metals on an AlP nano-sheet's capability in detecting the gas COS. It was found that decorating Cd significantly increased the sensitivity of the AlP nano-sheet to COS, compared to decorating Zn.

Mohsen Sharifpur et al.

Summary: This article investigates the cooling effect of nanofluids on photovoltaic cells and finds that although the use of nanofluids can improve performance, the difference is not significant compared to water. Factors such as solar radiation, ambient temperature, and nanofluid concentration have an impact on performance enhancement.

The effect of variable temperature and location on relative thermal conductivity (RTC) on the heat pipe in the presence of AL2O3 nanoparticles: Numerical and optimization approaches

Mohammad Mohammadiun et al.

Summary: This study aims to present the relative thermal conductivity of a heat pipe based on temperature and length in optimized geometry. By considering unsteady, multiphase fluid inside the heat pipe and incorporating evaporation, condensation, and conduction in the simulation, the approach can improve heat transfer efficiency and reduce variable range. The numerical simulation showed that the relative thermal conductivity could enhance heat transfer accuracy compared to standard methods by up to 8%, especially with increased heat flux.

Time-dependent power-law nanofluid with entropy generation

Salman Ahmad et al.

Summary: This study investigates the time-dependent convective flow of non-Newtonian power-law fluid by a vertical plate, considering thermal radiation effects. The Buongiorno model is used for nanofluid characteristics, while entropy generation and Bejan number are calculated. The system of partial differential equations is solved in dimensionless form using finite difference technique, with a focus on various parameters such as Prandtl number and Reynolds number. Graphical analysis shows different behaviors for velocity, temperature, and concentration based on parameters such as Grashof number and thermophoresis.
