Extraction, Structure and Immunoregulatory Activity of Low Molecular Weight Polysaccharide from Dendrobium officinale

Su-Jun Sun et al.

Summary: The ethanol precipitation method for Dendrobium officinale polysaccharides preparation has been studied extensively. However, the alcohol-soluble fractions have been overlooked, leading to significant waste of resources. This study investigated the extraction and properties of an edible D. officinale polysaccharide and found that it could protect immune organs, improve immune cell activities, promote immune-related cytokines secretions, and enhance antioxidant enzymes levels.

First-Principles Study on the Adsorption Characteristics of Corrosive Species on Passive Film TiO2 in a NaCl Solution Containing H2S and CO2

Pan Dong et al.

Summary: The adsorption characteristics of corrosive anions on the TiO2 surface of TC4 titanium alloy were studied using density functional theory. The results showed that the optimal adsorption positions were bridge positions, and the interface bonding was mainly caused by charge movement. The adsorption configurations were all chemical adsorption. A novel corrosion mechanism for the dynamic evolution processes of pits was proposed based on the findings.

Analysis of the nature of interaction between AlN nanocage and ibuprofen using quantum chemical study

Yu Wei et al.

Summary: Density functional theory was utilized to investigate the adsorption behavior of IBP on an AlN nanocage, revealing an electrostatic mechanism of adsorption. The HOMO-LUMO gap of AlN decreased significantly after IBP adsorption, suggesting AlN could serve as a sensor for IBP detection. Additionally, the AlN-IBP complex was found to be more stable in water medium compared to the gas phase, with the potential for selective identification of IBP in the presence of environmental pollutants.

Multi-Component Hydrogel Beads Incorporated with Reduced Graphene Oxide for pH-Responsive and Controlled Co-Delivery of Multiple Agents

Sreekanth Reddy Obireddy et al.

Summary: The study reports the generation of multi-component hydrogel beads incorporated with reduced graphene oxide, which are shown to be more effective in inhibiting the growth of MCF-7 cells. The drug release sustainability of the beads is affected by the pH of the release medium, increasing in neutral pH but decreasing in acidic environments.
