Shuai Chen et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized Li2.25Zr0.75In0.25Cl6 electrolyte with high room temperature Li-ion conductivity by introducing a small amount of In3+ into Li2ZrCl6. Solid-state batteries using Li2.25Zr0.75In0.25Cl6/Li5.5PS4.5Cl1.5 bilayer solid electrolytes, Li-In anode, and pristine LiNi0.7Mn0.2Co0.1O2 cathode showed high initial discharge capacities under different cut-off voltages.

Lithium-Metal Anode Instability of the Superionic Halide Solid Electrolytes and the Implications for Solid-State Batteries

Luise M. Riegger et al.

Summary: This study investigates the formation of a reaction layer and stability issues between halide-based solid electrolytes and lithium, aiming to find methods for long-term stable and low impedance operation. The results show that halide-based lithium superionic conductors react with lithium metal, leading to unstable interfaces and increased resistance.

Chemical Stability and Ionic Conductivity of LGPS-Type Solid Electrolyte Tetra-Li7SiPS8 after Solvent Treatment

Anna-Katharina Hatz et al.

Summary: This study investigates the chemical stability and ionic conductivity of the LGPS-type lithium-ion conductor tetra-Li7SiPS8 (LiSiPS) processed with various organic solvents, highlighting water and alcohols as potential decomposers of LiSiPS. Aprotic solvents with donor numbers smaller than 15 kcal mol(-1) are found suitable for wet-processing quaternary thiophosphates, with crystal structure retention and high ionic conductivity. The research identifies factors influencing ionic conductivity and offers insights into solvent processing methods for thiophosphate electrolytes.
