First-principles prediction of magnetic properties in Fe(Co,Ni)(C,N)0.5 alloys

Yohei Kota et al.

Summary: In this study, the effects of light elements addition (C, N) on the magnetic properties in FeCo and FeNi ordered alloys were investigated using first-principles calculations. FeNiC0.5 was found to be the most promising alloy with an expected increase in the Curie temperature and uniaxial magnetic anisotropy constant. The mechanism for the enhancement of these properties can be explained by the basic concepts of magnetism.

Computational study of magnetic properties of L10 ordered FeNi and FePt binary alloys

Abdalla Obeidat et al.

Summary: A Monte Carlo simulation is used to explore the magnetic properties of L1(0) ordered FeNi and FePt binary alloys. The calculated variations of specific heat, magnetic susceptibility, and magnetization with temperature show good agreement with experimental values. The study also includes the calculation of thermal hysteresis loops, magnetic remanence, and coercive field. Additionally, the magnetic properties of the ferrimagnetic phase are presented.

Effect of 3d transition metal additions on the phase constituent, mechanical properties, and shape memory effect of near-eutectoid Ti-4Au biomedical alloys

Wan-Ting Chiu et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the influences of 3d transition metals on near-eutectoid Ti-4 at.% Au-5 at.% X alloys. It was found that the additional third elements of Cr and Mn performed well in terms of strength, ductility, shape memory effect, and superelastic effect.

Fe-Ni-N based alloys as rare-earth free high-performance permanent magnet across α to L10 phase transition: A theoretical insight

D. Tuvshin et al.

Summary: The study focuses on enhancing the magnetic anisotropy Ku and thermal stability in Fe16N2-based permanent magnets using density-functional theory and Monte Carlo simulations. Results show that adding N atoms can increase Ku and Fe16N2-based compounds have the potential to be efficient rare-earth free permanent magnets.

Optical, half-metallic and thermoelectric properties of the Co2TaAl [001] film

Reza Mohebbi et al.

Summary: The Co2TaAl compound exhibits excellent hardness and half-metallic properties, making it suitable for optical and thermoelectric applications. The thermodynamic phase diagrams of [001] films show stability, while electronic diagrams demonstrate the half-metallic nature and spin polarization of the TaAl termination.
