Auger scattering dynamic of photo-excited hot carriers in nano-graphite film

Sichao Du et al.

Summary: This study presents an experimental demonstration of the effective Auger recombination process in photo-excited nano-graphite film. The time-resolved thermalization of hot carriers was analyzed based on energy dissipation through Auger scattering channels. The scattering and recombination rates were extracted for different energy states, revealing a delay between hot carrier recombination and generation. The study provides valuable insights into the most efficient energy regime for mid-infrared photodetection.

Role of the Optical-Acoustic Phonon Interaction in the Ultrafast Cooling Process of CVD Graphene

Tingyuan Jia et al.

Summary: The study systematically investigated the competition between different phonon coupling processes during the cooling of CVD graphene. It was experimentally verified that disorder-assisted optical-phonon interaction plays a key role in ultrafast terahertz conductivity relaxation. Furthermore, the ultrafast cooling process was found to be robust under different conditions and could be modulated by substrate doping.

Hot-Carrier Cooling in High-Quality Graphene Is Intrinsically Limited by Optical Phonons

Eva A. A. Pogna et al.

Summary: This study investigates the cooling dynamics of two technologically relevant high-quality graphene systems, revealing faster cooling rates due to an intrinsic mechanism where high-energy carriers emit optical phonons. This leads to efficient rethermalization and the development of a macroscopic model explaining the observed dynamics, eventually limited by optical-to-acoustic phonon coupling.

Chemical vapor deposition of graphene on thin-metal films

Shuaishuai Xu et al.

Summary: Metal foils and thin-metal films are commonly used as catalytic substrates for growing graphene, with thin-metal films also serving as intermediates for growing graphene on catalytically inactive substrates like dielectrics for electronic devices. There have been advancements in the field of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene growth on these substrates, and further development faces both challenges and opportunities.

Synthesis of Large-Area Single-Crystal Graphene

Meihui Wang et al.

Summary: Breakthroughs have been made in the mass production of graphene using CVD, with recent progress in growing large-area single crystal graphene. Challenges remain in achieving uniform bilayer or multilayer graphene single crystals over a large area, but the layer-by-layer transfer method shows promise for creating new types of crystals with specific layer numbers and stacking angles.
