The dielectric response of phenothiazine-based glass-formers with different molecular complexity

M. Rams-Baron et al.

Summary: The study systematically examined the impact of attaching n-alkyl chains of different lengths to a phenothiazine-based tricyclic core on the intermolecular organization and molecular dynamics. It was found that chain length has a decisive impact on properties, exerting a plasticizing effect on the dynamics and decreasing glass transition temperature. The increase in medium-range order was manifested as a broadening of the dielectric loss peak.
