Growth modulation with tension-band plates for the correction of paediatric lower limb angular deformity: current concepts and indications for a rational use

J. Javier Masquijo et al.

Summary: Growth modulation (GM) with tension-band plates (TBPs) by tethering part of the growth plate is a safe and effective technique for correcting angular deformities in skeletally immature patients, especially in cases with severe deformities. It has become increasingly popular as a less invasive alternative to osteotomies for correcting skeletal deformities.
