Preschool Language Development of Children Born to Women with an Opioid Use Disorder

Hyun Min Kim et al.

Summary: Children prenatally exposed to opioids showed poorer language outcomes at age 4.5 compared to non-exposed children. Opioid exposure remained a significant independent predictor of children's language scores after adjusting for various factors. The quality of parenting and early childhood education participation were identified as important positive mediators for language development.
