Spectroscopic study on the interaction of curcumin with single chain and gemini surfactants

Satyajit Mondal et al.

Summary: The study found that there are significant differences in the interaction between curcumin and different types of surfactants in an aqueous medium, with surfactants affecting the fluorescence and absorption spectra of curcumin in different ways. In the premicellar region, curcumin forms complexes with surfactant molecules, while in the post micellar region, curcumin is incorporated into the hydrophobic core of the micelle.
