Advances in the study of supercooled water

Paola Gallo et al.

Summary: This review discusses recent progress in the field of supercooled water, including polyamorphism, liquid-liquid critical point scenarios, the two-state model of water, and the cooperative effects related to water being a hydrogen-bonded network liquid. The unique properties of water in solution, confined environments, and near biological molecules are also explored.

The everlasting hunt for new ice phases

Thomas C. Hansen

Summary: Water ice is found in various environments across the universe, and the construction of the phase diagram for crystalline phases of ice is still ongoing. A recently reported high-pressure phase, ice XIX, has ambiguous structure that requires further study.
