Highly-crystalline Triazine-PDI Polymer with an Enhanced Built-in Electric Field for Full-Spectrum Photocatalytic Phenol Mineralization

Hanjie Zhang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the critical influence of crystallinity and adjustments of the built-in electric field on the photocatalytic activity of PDI. The enhanced dipole and high degree of crystallinity of triazine-PDI enable a higher rate of photo-induced charge separation and transfer, resulting in improved phenol degradation and organic carbon removal rates compared to bulk g-C3N4 and supramolecular PDI.

Supramolecular Zinc Porphyrin Photocatalyst with Strong Reduction Ability and Robust Built-In Electric Field for Highly Efficient Hydrogen Production

Jianfang Jing et al.

Summary: The ultrathin 2D self-assembled tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) zinc porphyrin (SA-ZnTCPP) is successfully fabricated for photocatalytic hydrogen production, showing 85 times increase in H-2 evolution rate compared to metal-free self-assembled tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (SA-TCPP). The enhanced photocatalytic activity of SA-ZnTCPP is attributed to the deep conduction band contributed by Zn2+ coordination and the strong built-in electric field that boosts the separation and mobility of photogenerated carriers.

Polarization-induced charge separation in conjugated microporous polymers for efficient visible light-driven C-3 selenocyanation of indoles

Qiujian Xie et al.

Summary: A new polarization strategy through molecular geometry optimization was proposed to enhance the charge separation of conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) as cost-effective photocatalysts in organic transformations. By regulating the polarization of the starting monomers, tailorable porosity, photoelectric properties, and photocatalytic activity of the CMPs can be achieved. The incorporation of polarized linkers introduced an internal electric field, benefiting efficient charge separation and offering new insights into developing high-performance photocatalysts.
