This article investigates the MHD Jeffrey fluid flow over a stretching cylinder with convection. The Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is used instead of the Fourier law of heat conduction to derive an energy equation. The mathematical model leads to a system of nonlinear PDEs in cylindrical coordinates, which are transformed into ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The numerical solutions are obtained using shooting and BVP4C methods, and the results are validated. The effects of different parameters on velocity, temperature, and concentration are analyzed through graphs, and the skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt and Schmidt numbers are discussed and tabulated. The novelty of this work lies in the study of Cattaneo-Christov MHD heat flux for Jeffrey fluid flow with convective conditions.
This article sheds light on the study of MHD Jeffrey fluid flow over a stretching cylinder with convection. The Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is under consideration rather than the Fourier law of heat conduction to obtain an energy equation. The mathematical model formulation results in a system of nonlinear PDEs under cylindrical coordinates. The geometry-based similarity transformations are used to obtain transformed ordinary differential equations. They are solved numerically by using shooting and BVP4C and, later on, their results are compared for validation. The effects of different parameters are investigated for velocity, temperature, and concentration through graphs. The skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt and Schmidt numbers are numerically discussed and tabulated. The novelty of this work is that Cattaneo-Christov MHD heat flux for Jeffrey fluid flow with convective conditions is studied for the first time.
