Metallophthalocyanines as Catalysts in Aerobic Oxidation

Carlos J. Pereira Monteiro et al.

Summary: Metallophthalocyanines (MPcs) are known for their chemical inertness as industrial dyes, but their rich redox chemistry has also been explored, providing a solid foundation for further studies on their potential as redox catalysts. Research in the last decades has focused on the catalytic activity of MPcs in aerobic oxidation reactions, with significant examples including the oxidation of organosulfur compounds and the functionalization of various substrates.
